Transitional Kindergarten

Meeting the Needs of Students Turning 4 By December 1st

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) serves as a bridge between Preschool and Kindergarten, to provide students with time to develop fundamental skills needed for success in school in a setting that is appropriate to the student's age and development.

Days and Times

  • Tuesday / Thursday (9:00 am - 12:00 noon)
  • Monday / Wednesday / Friday (9:00 am - 12:00 noon)
  • Monday thru Friday (9:00 am - 12:00 noon)

  • Extended Time Option:
  • Monday / Wednesday (9:00 am - 1:30 pm)
  • Tuesday / Thursday (9:00 am - 1:30 pm)
  • Monday - Thursday (9:00 am - 1:30 pm)  / Friday (9:00 am - 12:00 noon)
  • Student provides their own lunch.

Circle and Snack 10:00 - 10:30 Large and small group experience and process, developing social/emotional, language/communication and thinking skills Stories, Fingerplays, Music, Movement, Science, Math, and Literacy Games or Activities, Handwashing, Snack
Outdoor Exploration 10:30 - 11:30 Self selecting activity, independence, decision making and developing large motor skills Sand & Water Play, Swings, Slides, Bikes, Balls, Climbing and Grass Activities
Circle Time 11:30 - 11:45 Community, Whole group experience Naming favorite activities, Songs, Good-byes
Lunchtime 11:45 - 12:15 Students share mealtime while socializing and developing independence. Lunchtime with friends
Play Time 12:15 - 1:00 Self selecting activity, independence, decision making and developing large motor skills Outdoor play and enrichment
